RIVERSIDE: Homegrown Saturation Fest returns with new music, art

Immerse yourself in art and music as Saturation Fest returns to downtown Riverside. A plethora of concerts, films, workshops and exhibitions will be held Friday and throughout the weekend at various venues. A special preview will be held Thursday night.
Now in its 14th year, the do-it-yourself-style festival is organized by a group of artists and musicians, many of whom are based in the Inland Empire.

RIVERSIDE: Foster care inspires playwright

Regina Louise wanted to do something big with her life, even if that meant baring her soul.
From birth until age 18, Louise bounced around the foster care system in Texas, Georgia and California. Now, 50, Louise is a playwright, motivational speaker and a graduate student at the University of California, Riverside.

RIVERSIDE: Show and Go car show will bring 1,000 cars downtown

With the roaring and rumbling of more than 1,000 engines, downtown Riverside will come alive during the 16th annual Show and Go Car Show for Charity this weekend.

RIVERSIDE: Tamale festival promises 50 vendors

Spice up your spring with a variety of delicious flavors, family fun and entertainment at the Riverside Tamale Festival on Saturday, April 19, in downtown Riverside's White Park.
With more than 50 vendors selling food and retail wares, celebrity-judged contests, a KidZone and a beer garden, the festival, in its second year, promises to be bigger and better than last year's debut, according to event organizer Suzanne Armas.

RIVERSIDE: Airshow takes flight for 22nd year

With aerobatic maneuvers and aircraft climbing and dipping through the sky, the annual Riverside Airshow takes flight on Saturday, April 4, at the Riverside Municipal Airport.

The Airshow, which is now in its 22nd year, is a free family event with something for everyone, said Thomas Miller, event coordinator. He projected that more than 90,000 people will attend the event, an even bigger turnout than the 80,000-plus who attended in 2013.
